The darker tissue of your teeth, which is called the dentin can be exposed as the outer layer of enamel is worn by the effects of aging or things like caffeine and tobacco.

Food particles are naturally attracted to the enamel of the teeth of a particular protein.  Products like coffee and tea, berries and soy sauce are notorious for staining teeth.  Over time, teeth become more absorbent and vulnerable to staining from food and other substances.

A type of stainless steel caused by traumatic injuries, medications and fluorosis actually begins inside the tooth, brushing and flossing can not.  Another type of stain that can more easily attacked by brushing, flossing and rinsing-is caused by external factors such as food.

More and more people today are choosing effective tooth whitening procedures that quickly reverse the effects of aging and abuse of tobacco and food stains.

Some “whitening toothpastes” commercially available can be quite effective in removing stains and making teeth a few shades better.  But many of these products have abrasive substances that can actually wear down the enamel of your teeth.

Bleaching agents actually change the color of your teeth, but only effective for certain types of stains.  For example, bleaching agents, it is difficult to remove stains or greyish brown.

These products are also not as effective on pitted or badly discolored teeth, or restorations such as crowns, bridges, bonding and tooth-colored fillings (porcelain veneers or dental attachment may be more appropriate in this case).

Veneers…the Hollywood smile.

The teeth are badly stained, shaped or crooked may be improved by a veneer placed on the surface of the affected tooth.

Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain or plastic sealed on the front of teeth to change their color or shape. Veneers are used on teeth with uneven surfaces or are chipped, discolored, oddly shaped, uneven or unbalanced. Little or no anesthesia is necessary.

Veneers have a life and color stability of bonding, and highly resist permanent staining from coffee, tea or cigarettes, even.

Veneers usually taken by mouth lab technician working on the model provided by your dentist. Veneers are usually irreversible because it`s necessary to remove a small amount of tooth enamel shell fit.

Porcelain veneers can mask undesirable defects, such as teeth stained by tetracycline, by an injury, or after a root canal, and are ideal for masking discolored fillings in front teeth.

Patients with gaps between their front teeth or teeth that are chipped or worn may consider porcelain veneers.

Usually, the facets includes at least three appointments: diagnosis and planning treatment, preparation and bonding.

During the visit of the tooth preparation, usually lasting one to two hours, the teeth are lightly polished so that the thin layer added.

Usually, about half a millimeter of the tooth is removed, this may require local anesthesia.  During the same visit, a mold is taken of the teeth, and sent to the laboratory for the manufacture of veneers.

The last visit “bonding” is also one or two hours, the veneers are placed on the tooth surface with water or glycerine on the teeth to check their form and have a sense of color or colors.  While the veneers are resting on your teeth may be different shades of cement of the teeth.
